Player Projections
Making quality player projections is one of the keys to success in fantasy football. Phenoms Fantasy Football provides the projections of the commissioner, Mike Zangrilli, free of charge.
2010 Projections have been posted! All of the depth charts are loaded and the blank template is up-to-date.
Here are the steps I use in making projections:
- Compile the team statistics from the past few seasons, to use as a baseline for total team production
- Consider how the pass/run ratio may change, due to personnel or coaching changes
- Starting with the RBs, project the stats for the season. I look at each player's career stats, and consider what trends/changes will impact his performance for the upcoming season
- I'll start with the receivers and then fill in the QB stats, but adjust receiving stats when the QB's numbers are out of whack.
- Finally, I consider how the projected team totals compare to the historic team performance
Phenoms provides team pages with commentary, as well as league projections sorted by position in the Basic, PPR, and Bonus scoring systems. You can also download a blank spreadsheet to make your own projections. Phenoms FF does not provide IDP projections.
